Cathy Rude

Cathy Rude works for Hennepin County Public Health Promotion where she addresses wellness policy, systems and environments in schools for youth and staff.  She actively partners with Hennepin Family Collaboratives, four youth chemical health coalitions and volunteers as a grant review board member for Prairie Care. Cathy holds a master’s degree in curriculum and Instruction from the University of Minnesota, Mankato. She has training information in Building Assets, Reducing Risk (BARR), Change to Chill, Mindful Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), School Climate/Connectedness, SAFE Talk suicide prevention and Youth Mental Health First Aid. She is a proud founding member of Mental Health Navigators and believes in the power of parent-to-parent support for improving mental health outcomes for families. Cathy lives in Excelsior, MN with her husband Mike and has three children and two awesome dogs, Bo and Pepper. Cathy enjoys everything outdoors from camping, hiking and gardening to training for mini triathlons to keep her moving. You can reach Cathy at cathy@mhnav.org

 

 

Board Communications Director

Toni Plante

Toni Plante has twenty plus years working in home loan/finance and ten years as a catering manager in the Twin cities area. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the Minnesota State University, Moorhead.  Toni spends much of her time as a volunteer, and advocate for her passions which include the Minnesota Aids Project, Grace House board member, Aids Housing Facility, Mount Calvary Lutheran Church Sunday school teacher, Minnetonka Theatre Curtain Call Club, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and Mental Health monthly columnist for the Lakeshore Weekly News.  Married since 1991 to her husband Al, they live in Minnetonka with their two dogs. Toni has a son currently living the dream in New York City and a daughter who died by suicide on January 30th, 2016 at the age of 15. Toni describes herself as “a semi-retired, HIV positive, recovering alcoholic, whose daughter died by suicide at 15”.  She’s a “Fighter for mental health awareness and suicide prevention.  A crusader of kindness and believer in Miracles.” You can reach Toni at toni@mhnav.org

Robin Livingston-Richter

Robin has been a family therapist for more than 25 years in various settings including psychiatric hospitals, day treatment centers, shelters for youth and outpatient clinics. She currently is a therapist with BetterHelp.com, owns an ADHD Life Coaching practice, Stigma2Strength, and is a mentor to many in her community. Robin’s passions include helping people heal, recover and discover. She is also a true believer in community, mindfulness and gratitude. Robin is married to Sam and they have a daughter, son, and a dog. Robin received her MSW and LICSW from the University of Minnesota. She is a self-proclaimed health warrior, sports fanatic, enjoys exercise and is a dance enthusiast. She also loves to follow tribute bands. Sam Richter

Sam Richter is the Founder/CEO SBR Worldwide, LLC | Know More, a professional keynote speaker and an inductee into the National Speakers Hall of Fame, a bestselling author, and a technology entrepreneur, specializing in building custom business intelligence search engines, including the Mental Health Navigators Search Resource. Sam has a Journalism degree from the University of Minnesota, is a graduate of the Corporate Board of Directors Academy at St. Mary’s University, and a graduate of the Executive Director Leadership Program at the University of St. Thomas.  Sam is married to his wife Robin, has two children and a dog. Sam has quite the varied list of interests including playing/watching sports, going to the movies, going to hear local tribute bands, traveling, enjoying pets/animals and nature.
